History
The Blue Berets Motorcycle Club (BBMC) is an international
organization with members in Sweden, Denmark and Faeroe Islands. The
basic idea was formed in the spring of 1999 by UN-Veterans from both Sweden, Denmark and Faeroe Islands.
8 of January 2001 our logotype and basic regulations was founded in
Gothenburg Sweden. 1 of April 2001 Blue Berets MC Denmark was
established and this date will be honoured in future. Our members
are either active-duty peacekeepers or veterans returned from peacekeeping
operations all over the world. We have been in
conflicts in Congo, Gaza, Sinai, Lebanon, Cyprus, Namibia, Kuwait,
Bosnia, Kosovo, Afganistan etc.
Goal
Our prime purpose is to continue the comradeship from overseas
duties abroad
and national / international corporations with other UN/NATO veteran
organisations worldwide. We will also support our veterans and their
families as far as we are
able to.
At present time (2002) BBMC have
plans for new chapters in Norway, Island and Finland, this due to
there is a close and long time corporation between the veteran associations in the
nordic countries.
Policy
BBMC is neutral
in all respects, both political and in the MC-culture. We do not get
involved with the private business of other motorcycle clubs or
their problems. We strive to respect the freedom of each and
everyone. Blue Berets MC is open for all types of motorcycles and we
are divided into districts which runs by 4 members under the
supervision of the main board.
Members
Both male and
female personel are welcome. The demand is that you have done duty
abroad in peacekeeping operations in UN, NATO, Defence Force, Police
Force, Red Cross or other similar organizations. The person who
wants to apply must have conducted satisfied international duty abroad. The member
also have to own (or within 12 month have to get) a motorcycle of
any given brand and have a valid drivers licence for motorcycle.
Membership
An applicant
should get in contact with a member of BBMC either by person or by
e-mail. The applicant will get an overall orientation of the BBMC.
It is allowed by the district member or the main board to give an
applicant a verbal denial to membership if there are things (bad
behaviour or a criminal record) which
the board seems as non compatible with the main goal of BBMC.
If You would like to join us or
perhaps start a local chapter in your own country, please feel free to contact
one of the
relevant BBMC members below for more information.
We would be more
than happy to inform You and help you along.
